Huipil linen cadenilla
Huipil embroidered in “cadenilla” technique by Bordados Ambaa from San Juan Guichicovi, Oaxaca, Mexico.
The “cadenilla” technique is used by the Zapotec people of the state of Oaxaca, more common in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec region, to embroider the traditional Huipils worn by the women of this Mexican state.
This Huipil is embroidered with three rows of “Cadenilla” in 20 days embroidery in a pedal machine. Every three seconds aprox. you have to change the direction of the fabric, until you create a zigzag pattern.
