Filigree is a very special jewellery-making technique specific to the Oaxaca region of Mexico. It consists of creating unique pieces from gold or silver threads that are handcrafted to the desired shape.
These are delicate and totally unique pieces, designed and created according to the inspiration of the craftsmen. The making of a pair of earrings or a necklace can require between 40 and 80 hours of work by a craftsman.
The filigree is native to Oaxaca, but you can also find it in Chiapas or Yucatán.
